The radiation produced during bead making (sodium light flash = bright sodium flame) is particularly dangerous and can damage the eyes. This is filtered out by the Didymium or ACE.

Glasses for glass bead making and other tasks where the eyes must be protected.

Schott Glass Technologies has developed a new contrast-enhancing glass for spectacle lenses. The new material called ACE, short for Amethyst Contrast Enhancer, uses rare earth oxides in the glass composition to achieve unique color enhancement. Basically, the color optimization works through selective transmission positioning in the blue, green, and red spectral ranges, thereby significantly improving color rendering between different colored objects.

This glass is very efficient at filtering out the sodium flare while also providing UV protection up to 390 nm.

These glasses are always the preferred choice of glass bead makers and glassworking specialists.

You will receive original TOP Didymium 202 ACE+UV safety glasses.

Although the glasses have a relatively low light transmission of 38%, they are not recommended for sun protection.

Product care & materials

What materials do you use?

We use a wide variety of materials – including 925 sterling silver, stainless steel and surgical steel, nickel-free silver-plated and gold-plated metals, genuine minerals, glass, and many other materials for jewelry making.

In our own workshop, we also handcraft glass beads that we use for individual jewelry pieces and accessories.

What's the best way to care for my jewelry?

Keep your jewelry as dry as possible and preferably store pieces individually. Avoid direct contact with perfume, cosmetics, and cleaning agents. If necessary, clean your jewelry gently with a soft cloth. This will help maintain its color, shine, and beauty for as long as possible.

Can I wear my jewelry while showering or exercising?

We recommend removing jewelry before showering, swimming, or exercising – moisture, chlorine, and sweat can damage some materials.
