Vetromagic Frits COE 104

The frit mixtures available to date usually have a COE of 92-98.
While the glass used has the advantage of being very color-intensive and creating beautiful reactions, it also has a few disadvantages: many colors tend to devitrify, contain high levels of lead, and react strongly with silver.
Above all, however, a COE that differs from that of the base bead and overlay glass can lead to difficulties.

Therefore, we have decided to offer frits and frit mixtures in COE 104.

Glass powders and powder mixtures with a coefficient of expansion (COE) of 104 are made from the exact same glass that is most frequently used in bead making: Effetre (Moretti), Reichenbach 104 lampworking series... and is therefore completely compatible and suitable for beginners and advanced bead makers alike.

Product care & materials

What materials do you use?

We use a wide variety of materials – including 925 sterling silver, stainless steel and surgical steel, nickel-free silver-plated and gold-plated metals, genuine minerals, glass, and many other materials for jewelry making.

In our own workshop, we also handcraft glass beads that we use for individual jewelry pieces and accessories.

What's the best way to care for my jewelry?

Keep your jewelry as dry as possible and preferably store pieces individually. Avoid direct contact with perfume, cosmetics, and cleaning agents. If necessary, clean your jewelry gently with a soft cloth. This will help maintain its color, shine, and beauty for as long as possible.

Can I wear my jewelry while showering or exercising?

We recommend removing jewelry before showering, swimming, or exercising – moisture, chlorine, and sweat can damage some materials.
